B2B Catalog with Dynamic Pricing
Automated daily price updates based on gold spot prices
The Problem
Lilandann, a wholesale jewelry brand, sells to retailers across the region. Their product prices are tied to gold and material costs, which fluctuate daily. Every morning, someone had to check gold prices, recalculate markups for 200+ products, and update the website.
Beyond pricing, their wholesale clients needed certificates of authenticity for pieces they sold to end customers. Generating these PDFs was another manual process: copy product details into a Word template, add the retailer's info, export to PDF, email it over.
The combination of daily price updates and on-demand certificate generation was consuming hours that could be spent on actual sales.
The Approach
I built a serverless backend that pulls gold spot prices daily from a market API and automatically recalculates all product prices based on their material composition and markup rules. Prices update on the catalog before the team even wakes up.
For certificates, I created a generation system where authorized retailers can log in, select a product they've sold, enter their customer's details, and instantly generate a branded PDF certificate. The system tracks which certificates were issued and to whom.
The catalog itself is a polished Next.js application with high-quality imagery, designed for B2B buyers who want to browse collections on tablet during client meetings.
